Based on the true childhood experiences of Noah Baumbach and his brother, The Squid and the Whale tells the touching story of two young boys dealing with their parents divorce in Brooklyn in the 1980's.

Indeed, Jeff steals the show, but he has really great lines:

"Why is your mother dating all these jocks? Very uninteresting men."

"Ivan is fine but he's not a serious guy, he's a philistine."

"It's a guy who doesn't care about books and interesting films and things."
